The Decentralized Autonomous Municipal Government of Guayaquil awarded a Certificate of Congratulation to Ecuadorian artist Luis Mueckay Arcos, in honor of his outstanding career and invaluable contribution to the country's art and culture.

Two short films created by students from the Faculty of Art, Design, and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) at ESPOL have gained recognition at national and international festivals.

On September 1, a group of mothers from the Hogar de Nazareth educational institution, a beneficiary of the Interactions with Digital Games for Education outreach project, visited the Faculty of Art, Design, and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM), where they participated in various artistic, academic, and community activities.

The presentation of “Co-creation Alive: Transforming Art with Nature” took place on Tuesday, September 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the food court of the Guayaquil Bus Terminal Shopping Center.

Soto's work articulates a view that integrates archaeology, contemporary art and graphic design, and highlights how the geometric lines, patterns and schemes of pre-Columbian.

Andrea Pino, part of the academic team of the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of the ESPOL, successfully completed the Doctoral Programme in Art: Production and Research, obtaining the title of Doctor of Art with Cum Laude mention, a recognition reserved for doctoral theses of academic excellence.

A space to look at mathematics with different eyes. This was the practical workshop on Ethnomathematics and Ancestral Knowledge, an interdisciplinary experience organised by the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) with the collaboration of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCNM) of ESPOL.

ESPOL positioned itself as a key institution within the publishing ecosystem of the region during the V Latin American Congress of Scientific Journal Editors and Researchers, thanks to the outstanding participation of its scientific publications: the journal Ñawi - Arte, Diseño y Comunicación, belonging to the Faculty of Art, Design and Communication (FADCOM), and the Revista Tecnológica ESPOL (RTE), the university's institutional publication.

During the Extraordinary Academic Period (PAE) 2025, the Faculty of Art, Design and Communication (FADCOM) developed a rich agenda of workshops for its teachers. These activities focused on updating technical knowledge, exploring new digital platforms, and reinforcing key competencies for teaching and academic research.

On Thursday 8 May, the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) welcomed 128 new students from the PAO 2025-1 regular academic period to participate in an induction day designed to welcome them and introduce them to the academic and technical environment of the Faculty.
