On Thursday, February 12, ESPOL held The Final Pitch, an institutional event that brings together the best projects from all faculties to conclude the Integrative Subject process. In this academic space, the Faculty of Art, Design, and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) presented its finalist proposals, demonstrating the potential of design, products, and media as tools for social and cultural transformation.
Product Design: inclusive learning and rehabilitation
FADCOM's participation began with the Product Design projects. Soraya Cansing and Eduardo Mosquera presented an educational toy for teaching mathematics to children with ASD, a proposal that combines design, pedagogy, and inclusion.
Next, Fernando Rivera and Dayeline Bowen presented a physical therapy device for rehabilitating mobility in the hands of older adults, aimed at improving therapeutic processes and the quality of life of this population group.
Media Production: Inclusion and Cultural Memory
In the Media Production section, Emily Tigua and Juliana Pérez presented “Capacidades que inspiran” (Inspiring Abilities), a project developed with ASOPLÉJICA that highlights the skills of people with disabilities and proposes a marketing strategy for their artistic products.
Elías Noroña presented the documentary “Guayaquil al Ring,” a project that rescues the tradition of Ecuadorian wrestling from a historical and personal perspective, connecting family memory and cultural heritage.
Graphic Design: communication for animal health and welfare
In Graphic Design, Samantha Vega and John Mosquera presented a campaign for the early detection of type II diabetes in vulnerable communities, demonstrating the contribution of design to public health prevention.
The day concluded with a presentation by Josué Yanez and Valeria Aguirre, who developed a comprehensive merchandising and communication campaign for the Amigos con Cola foundation, focused on encouraging donations, promoting responsible adoption, and raising awareness about animal welfare.
The judges asked technical and strategic questions that strengthened the teams' argumentation skills. At the end of the event, the merchandising and communication campaign proposal for Amigos con Cola was announced as the outstanding project of the day.
FADCOM's participation in The Final Pitch reflected an education focused on solving real problems, with an emphasis on ethics, social impact, and professional development.
We would like to thank The Final Pitch team, made up in this edition of Jorge Lombeida, María Gabriela Requena, and José Luis Castro, as well as the teaching staff and the different departments involved, for their valuable support in organizing and developing the event, which allowed the day to be a success.
