ESPOL’s Faculty of Art, Design, and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) held another edition of Arte Malo ESPOL, a contest that celebrates humor, spontaneity, and creativity from a different perspective, symbolically awarding prizes to the “worst” works of art from the polytechnic community.

Alejandra Cata Pallo, a Graphic Design student at ESPOL’s Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM), won the silver medal in the women’s individual category at FISU América Chess 2026, the Pan-American University Chess Championship, which brought together more than 200 participants from universities across Latin America.

The Faculty of Art, Design, and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) at the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) held the workshop “Theater for Healing,” an initiative aimed at promoting emotional well-being through physical expression and the performing arts.

The PAO 2025 II Poster Contest—Bachelor’s Program took place on January 23, 2026, as part of the “Applied Design Research” course, which was conducted in three parallel groups.

On September 18, 2025, the grand finale of FADCOM's 5MinPitch took place as part of The Final Pitch event, held at the STEM facilities.

During the year 2024, the student clubs of the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) developed an agenda of activities that strengthened the professional and personal training of its members. The ALUCINE, BREIK, D-PRO and TWEENING clubs promoted academic, cultural, social and artistic initiatives that complement formal education, promote practical experimentation and consolidate spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration.

On January 13, 2025, the final of the 5MinPitch of the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) took place. This event brought together the finalist projects of the Product Design, Graphic Design and Media Production careers, who presented innovative proposals focused on solving social and educational problems.

The School of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of ESPOL experienced two days full of creativity and entrepreneurship during the semifinal of the #5MinPitch, an event that took place on January 29 and 30 as part of the Ordinary Academic Period (PAO) 2024-2.
