During the year 2024, the student clubs of the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) developed an agenda of activities that strengthened the professional and personal training of its members. The ALUCINE, BREIK, D-PRO and TWENING clubs promoted academic, cultural, social and artistic initiatives that complement formal education, promote practical experimentation and consolidate spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration.

The ALUCINE, BREIK, D-PRO and TWENING clubs promoted academic, cultural, social and artistic initiatives that complement formal education, promote practical experimentation and consolidate spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Through active methodologies, participatory approaches and a strategic use of available resources, each club deployed activities adapted to their disciplinary profile:

ALUCINE promoted film analysis through film forums and face-to-face screenings. These sessions fostered critical thinking, effective communication and appreciation of audiovisual language among students.

BREIK worked under a departmental structure (graphics, social media, coverage and creative), generating audiovisual content, covering institutional events, organising technical workshops and strengthening production, editing, photography and collaborative work skills.

D-PRO focused its activities on strengthening product design, organising sketching and rendering workshops, collaborating in the creation of furniture for institutional spaces, and participating in events such as entrepreneurship fairs and networking days with schools.

TWENING developed a proposal focused on art, sustainability and community intervention. Through activities such as murals, mingas, exhibitions, illustration and painting workshops, and actions in public spaces, the club encouraged artistic expression with social and environmental impact.

These initiatives arise from the institutional commitment to offer a comprehensive training that articulates theory and practice, and promotes the development of transversal skills: critical thinking, communication, leadership, teamwork and social responsibility.

Student clubs are spaces where knowledge is transformed into real experiences; where students become managers of their own learning processes and actively contribute to the cultural, artistic and community development of the university.

Outstanding results and contributions:
  • More than 20 academic, artistic and community outreach activities.
  • Active participation in fairs, institutional events and intervention projects.
  • Strengthening of students' academic portfolios through practice.
  • Institutional recognition for their contribution to the university environment.
  • Development of specific competences in audiovisual production, graphic design, product design and illustration.
  • Environmental and social impact through artistic and sustainability activities.

The ALUCINE, BREIK, D-PRO and TWENING clubs consolidated their role as living laboratories of education, creativity and commitment during 2024. Through their initiatives, they presented that university life goes beyond the classroom: it is built in community, strengthened with purpose and projected with impact.
