Teachers from the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) and the Faculty of Social and Humanistic Sciences (FCSH) participated in a training day aimed at strengthening their teaching practices from an inclusive approach and with sustainable evaluation methods.
The activity took place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the FCSH facilities. The sessions were given by Mgtr. Josie Nan Solórzano, Scholarly Teaching Fellow at Griffith University (Australia), specialist in educational innovation, inclusion and assessment in university contexts. During the day, two key topics were addressed: Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Effective Assessment.

The first workshop, entitled “Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Strategies for Inclusive Teaching”, allowed teachers to reflect on the barriers to learning and participation for all students. Through examples and practical tools, they explored inclusive strategies based on SAD principles, applicable to planning, teaching and evaluation in the university classroom.
The second workshop, “Efficient Assessment: Designing Relevant and Sustainable Practical Work,” promoted the critical review of current assessment methods. It proposed the redesign of practical assignments to reduce over-assessment and optimize the load for teachers and students, without compromising the quality of learning.
These trainings reaffirm ESPOL's commitment to the continuous improvement of teaching, the professional development of its academic community and the implementation of practices that promote equity, efficiency and educational quality.
