FADCOM students created a series of illustrated posters as part of the Illustration Workshop course, under the guidance of instructor Daniel Castelo. The works are part of the “POSCA Laboratory” project, presented in FADCOM’s ADC 3 space. The exercise began with the reading and analysis of literary, journalistic, and narrative texts.
Based on this content, the students identified themes, symbols, emotions, and concepts that were subsequently translated into the language of illustration. The creative process integrated research, conceptualization, and graphic experimentation. Through mind maps, sketches, and compositional explorations, the students developed proposals in which form, color, and the expressiveness of the line function as tools for interpreting and communicating an idea.

The works were created entirely using traditional methods with POSCA acrylic markers, allowing students to experiment directly with color, gesture, and the expressive possibilities of the manual technique. Rather than literally translating a text into an image, the exercise aimed for each student to develop their own interpretation and create a visual experience capable of communicating beyond words. The exhibition is on view at the ADC 3 space at FADCOM, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Participants included Christopher Alvarado, Erick Barahona, Alejandro Bejarano, Ana Bermeo, Angel Bonilla, Jerry Bonilla, Clerida Castro, Shannelle Figueroa, Sara Gonzalez, Rudi Llangari, Vicky López, Kristhel Martillo, Diocelyn Molina, Angelina Morales, Doménica Morales, Jeanpiere Pérez, Danna Quishpe, Doménica Reino, Alina Reyes, Valeska Triana, and Alejandra Zambrano. FADCOM recognizes the students’ commitment to this process of research, experimentation, and graphic creation, which allowed them to explore the possibilities of illustration as a tool for interpretation and communication.
