FADCOM faculty member Paola Ulloa undertook a research residency in São Paulo, Brazil, as part of her postdoctoral work, in collaboration with Dr. Denis Porto Renó, Associate Professor III at the São Paulo State University (UNESP). Their joint research examines the social media communication strategies of Latin American governments, aiming to analyze how government institutions utilize these digital spaces to communicate and interact with their audiences.
During the residency, the academic work focused on analyzing communication practices and strategies employed on social media within the Latin American context. The research adopts a regional perspective to understand the characteristics and dynamics of government communication in digital environments. This experience in São Paulo strengthens the international dimension of Paola Ulloa’s postdoctoral work and fosters academic exchange with researchers in Brazil, broadening perspectives on the study of digital communication and its applications in the public sector. Such residencies contribute to the generation of specialized knowledge and the development of academic collaboration networks among researchers and institutions across Latin America.
