On Thursday 8 May, the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) welcomed 128 new students from the PAO 2025-1 regular academic period to participate in an induction day designed to welcome them and introduce them to the academic and technical environment of the Faculty.
During the activity, the students toured the different laboratories and workshops of FADCOM, guided by the teachers in charge of each space. This visit gave them first-hand knowledge of the resources and tools they will be using throughout their studies. The prototyping workshop showed them 3D printers, laser cutting machines, lathes for clay modelling and specialised machinery for carpentry, demonstrating the creative possibilities they will have to develop their ideas and turn them into tangible products.

In the screen printing workshop, students learned the basics of the manual printing process and its value in visual communication. In addition to the application of these techniques in the development of graphic and promotional products, combining tradition and innovation. The day also included a visit to the Sound laboratory and the Television studio, where they explored the audiovisual technologies that will be fundamental for their future projects.
There, they became familiar with recording, editing and multimedia production equipment, essential for the creation of professional content. This induction allowed the new members of FADCOM to get to know the tools and spaces that will allow them to make the most of the opportunities offered by a practical, interdisciplinary and experimentation-focused training.
