The Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) presents the exhibition ‘Experiments in Creativity and Film Poster Design’, a showcase of projects developed by students on the Illustration Workshop course, who have transformed original ideas into visual concepts capable of bringing to life films that exist only in the imagination.
Through creativity and ideation exercises, the students combined characters, professions and unexpected conflicts to construct original stories, which they subsequently distilled into a single film poster. Each piece was conceived as a complete visual identity, where the design conveys a narrative even before the first scene exists. The exhibition puts into practice knowledge relating to composition, illustration, typography, colour and art direction, demonstrating how graphic design can become a tool for constructing visual worlds and sparking the viewer’s curiosity.
The works were created by Christopher Alvarado, Darla Arteaga, Alejandro Bejarano, Erick Barahona, Rudi Llangari, Kristhel Martillo, Angelina Morales, Sara González, Layla Plúas, Ariana Rodríguez, Valeska Triana and Alejandra Zambrano, under the guidance of lecturer Daniel Gustavo Castelo Tay Hing. Through this exhibition, FADCOM promotes spaces where creativity, experimentation and visual storytelling enable students to explore new ways of communicating ideas and to strengthen the fundamental skills required for a professional career in design.
