On Thursday, January 22, the play “La Casa del Qué dirán,” by Guayaquil-based playwright José Martínez Queirolo, was performed under the direction of professor Rafael Santi. The production brought together students from FADCOM, who portrayed a family burdened by social pressure in a story where intimacy is laid bare and conflict arises when Cruz, known as “the crazy one,” decides to defy the imposed norms.

The production unfolded as a theatrical exercise that combined dramatic analysis, character development, and acting focused on emotional tension. Directed by Rafael Santi, with Michael Bravo serving as assistant director, the production brought the play’s text to life on stage through rhythm, physicality, and a critical interpretation of the social context presented by the author.

The production was conceived as a practical laboratory where the classroom becomes a stage and learning takes on a public dimension. The play was staged with the aim of questioning the weight of social judgment and highlighting how “what people will say” shapes decisions, silences, and family conflicts.

The production not only highlighted the dramatic legacy of José Martínez Queirolo but also invited reflection on current social dynamics, transforming the theater into a space for analysis, confrontation, and dialogue.
