The Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) at ESPOL invites you to visit the exhibitions of projects related to Product Design, which are on display in Galleries 3 and 4, now equipped with new display stands and hangers developed with a focus on sustainability.
As part of FADCOM’s sustainability project, launched in July, the Faculty has introduced these new elements to improve the set-up and presentation of exhibitions related to the Product Design degree programme and the Master’s programmes. The solutions primarily utilise cardboard and recyclable plastics, in collaboration with companies involved in the production and processing of these materials.
In addition to this implementation, a television has been purchased for Gallery 3, to serve as an audiovisual resource supporting the exhibitions, complementing the displays and facilitating the presentation of digital and audiovisual content, as well as other materials related to the exhibitions. This resource broadens the possibilities for exhibition design and allows for the integration of different content formats into the proposals presented in the space.
The acquisition of these items forms part of a drive to find alternatives that will optimise the use of resources in the exhibition spaces whilst, at the same time, incorporating criteria of sustainability and functionality into the installation processes. In this way, the initiative takes into account the impact of the materials and the requirements of each exhibition from a perspective that combines design, innovation, functionality and environmental responsibility.
The new display stands and resources help to strengthen Galleries 3 and 4 as spaces dedicated to showcasing FADCOM’s academic work. Their introduction improves the organisation and presentation of exhibitions, broadens the scope of what can be displayed and creates a more comprehensive experience for visitors to these spaces.
This initiative forms part of a comprehensive vision of sustainability that seeks to extend these principles beyond academic projects and apply them also to the management, refurbishment and kitting out of the Faculty’s spaces.
