On Monday, August 4, Motion Lab celebrated its first year of operation with a special screening of short films at the MZ14 cinema at the University of the Arts. The event brought together approximately 200 attendees, including students, teachers, family members, friends, and professionals from the audiovisual field.
During the event, 28 short films developed by students during the laboratory's first year of activities were screened. The works, diverse in style and theme, included a remarkable technical display, with the use of different stop motion animation techniques standing out in particular. The screening, held in a room equipped with high-quality image and sound technology, gave the filmmakers the opportunity to experience their works in a professional environment.

This experience was significant not only from a technical point of view, but also emotionally, as it allowed the audience to experience the stories collectively and react in real time to each scene. As part of the activity, a forum was held afterwards with the directors, who shared details about their creative processes and answered questions from the audience, creating a valuable space for dialogue for academic and artistic training.
The main benefit of this type of event lies in strengthening the sense of authorship, belonging, and appreciation of one's own work, as well as in the possibility of experiencing the magic of cinema: that unique connection between the work, the author, and the viewer that occurs in the dark theater, when emotions become collective. The Faculty of Art, Design, and Communication (FADCOM) continues to support initiatives that promote the creative development of its students, combining academic training with concrete professional experiences that broaden their vision and consolidate their skills.
