The Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) presented ArtiFauna, an exhibition created by students on the Design Theory course, which reinterprets the natural wealth of the La Prosperina Protected Forest through sculptures made from recycled materials.
The exhibition opened on 27 July 2026 in the lobby of the STEM building, on ESPOL’s Gustavo Galindo Velasco campus, where the university community was able to view a collection of large-scale sculptures inspired by the species that inhabit this important ecosystem. Using recycled materials, the students combined art, colour and imagination to depict the local fauna and encourage reflection on biodiversity conservation and the positive impact that design can have on fostering an environmental culture.
As well as strengthening skills related to creativity, experimentation and three-dimensional design, the exhibition serves as a testament to the project-based learning promoted by FADCOM, fostering educational experiences that integrate sustainability, research and artistic expression.
