
Andrea Pino, part of the academic team of the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of the ESPOL, successfully completed the Doctoral Programme in Art: Production and Research, obtaining the title of Doctor of Art with Cum Laude mention, a recognition reserved for doctoral theses of academic excellence.

A space to look at mathematics with different eyes. This was the practical workshop on Ethnomathematics and Ancestral Knowledge, an interdisciplinary experience organised by the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) with the collaboration of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCNM) of ESPOL.

ESPOL positioned itself as a key institution within the publishing ecosystem of the region during the V Latin American Congress of Scientific Journal Editors and Researchers, thanks to the outstanding participation of its scientific publications: the journal Ñawi - Arte, Diseño y Comunicación, belonging to the Faculty of Art, Design and Communication (FADCOM), and the Revista Tecnológica ESPOL (RTE), the university's institutional publication.

On Friday, May 16th, the Faculty of Art, Design and Communication (FADCOM) of the ESPOL received the official visit of a delegation of the Ecuadorian Association of Plastic Artists (ASEPLAS), headed by its president, Eng. Jorge Luis Mórtola. It was a first institutional rapprochement between both entities with a view to future collaborations.

During the Extraordinary Academic Period (PAE) 2025, the Faculty of Art, Design and Communication (FADCOM) developed a rich agenda of workshops for its teachers. These activities focused on updating technical knowledge, exploring new digital platforms, and reinforcing key competencies for teaching and academic research.

On Thursday 8 May, the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) welcomed 128 new students from the PAO 2025-1 regular academic period to participate in an induction day designed to welcome them and introduce them to the academic and technical environment of the Faculty.

During the year 2024, the student clubs of the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) developed an agenda of activities that strengthened the professional and personal training of its members. The ALUCINE, BREIK, D-PRO and TWEENING clubs promoted academic, cultural, social and artistic initiatives that complement formal education, promote practical experimentation and consolidate spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration.

Ashley Avilés, a Graphic Design student at the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of the ESPOL, won first place in the Illustrated Design Competition, organised by the creative platform Think.

Teachers from the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) and the Faculty of Social and Humanistic Sciences (FCSH) participated in a training day aimed at strengthening their teaching practices from an inclusive approach and with sustainable evaluation methods.

Students from the Product Design course at the Faculty of Art, Design and Communication (FADCOM) have developed artistic furniture that enhances the identity of the faculty.
