From 23 October to 7 November 2026, the San Marino Shopping Centre presents ‘Legoman-inspired’, an exhibition of works created by students on the Design Theory course at ESPOL’s Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM), under the guidance of lecturer Da He Park.
The project transforms a recognisable silhouette into original works of art. Each character is based on a basic structure to which bespoke clothing and a carefully defined pose are added. These elements are integrated into compositions that reflect different aesthetic and expressive choices, where every detail helps to construct the character’s identity.
The creative process allows students to explore the relationship between form, proportion, costume and composition, applying concepts from design theory to the development of visual proposals. Through their work on each figure, participants experiment with techniques that transform a familiar reference into their own interpretation.
The exhibition demonstrates how visual elements can communicate ideas and personalities. The shapes, the details of the costumes and the poses all play a part in the construction of each character, distinguishing the proposals from one another and giving them a distinctive visual language.

Through this exhibition, FADCOM showcases its students’ academic work in a space open to the public, bringing the processes of learning and experimentation in design to new audiences.
