ASEPLAS EXHIBICION FADCOM

On Friday, May 16th, the Faculty of Art, Design and Communication (FADCOM) of the ESPOL received the official visit of a delegation of the Ecuadorian Association of Plastic Artists (ASEPLAS), headed by its president, Eng. Jorge Luis Mórtola. It was a first institutional rapprochement between both entities with a view to future collaborations.

ASEPLAS, a private non-profit organisation founded in 1977, represents 98% of the plastics and recycling industry in the country, with more than 150 affiliated companies nationwide. Its interest in building bridges with academia responds to the need to promote sustainable solutions, encourage responsible product design and strengthen the relationship between industry and higher education.

During the day, the ASEPLAS representatives toured the FADCOM facilities and held discussions with academic authorities and teachers from the Product Design area. The visit included a presentation of the technical, academic and creative capabilities of the faculty, as well as an open dialogue on possible synergies between the plastics industry and the training of new design talent.

This approach opens the door to future collaborations such as joint participation in exhibitions, the organisation of technical visits for students and the development of projects that integrate innovation, design and circular economy. A partnership with a vision for the future, where design becomes the bridge between creativity and industry.
