The ESPOL Faculty of Art, Design, and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) presents the exhibition “The Constructed Image: Schemes and Representation Between Drawing and Painting,” a show featuring works created by students in the Drawing II and Painting Techniques courses this semester.
The exhibition, curated by professor Billy Soto, is on view in the Mezzanine Gallery of the Guayaquil Municipal Museum as part of an initiative that seeks to expand exhibition spaces for academic work and bring students’ creations to new audiences and cult
The opening took place on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., with representatives from FADCOM and the Guayaquil Municipal Museum in attendance. The event began with opening remarks by Anthony Arrobo, director of the Guayaquil Municipal Museum, who welcomed the initiative and provided the space for the exhibition.
“The Constructed Image” brings together a selection of works created in the Drawing II and Painting Techniques courses, educational settings in which students explore different resources and possibilities for representation through drawing and painting.
This experience offers students the opportunity to present their work in a cultural space in the city and to engage with exhibition dynamics different from those typical of the academic setting. At the same time, it allows the public to gain insight into some of the creative processes that take place as part of the educational program at FADCOM.
For FADCOM, these types of initiatives help showcase its students’ academic and creative work, while encouraging their participation in cultural spaces and expanding opportunities for them to share their work with diverse audiences.
The exhibition will remain open to the public through September 12 in the Mezzanine Gallery of the Guayaquil Municipal Museum, located on Sucre Street, between Chile and Pedro Carbo (behind the Municipal Library). The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
