Audiovisual Research: a journey through myths, ideas, and discoveries

Students enrolled in the Audiovisual Research course, taught by Jorge Lombeida, M.Sc., present academic posters as part of their training in the Media Production program. Among the works, the poster entitled “Research in Mythology, Philosophy, and Science” stands out, compiling three representative films, each linked to a mythological, philosophical, and scientific event. The proposal offers a critical look at cinema as a tool for intellectual exploration, encouraging interdisciplinary analysis and connecting students with narratives that transcend the screen: founding myths, philosophical reflections, and scientific advances.

At the same time, as part of the “Poster Competition” exhibition, groups of students carried out applied research on topics of personal interest, identifying real problems without satisfactory solutions. Each poster summarizes the main elements of the research process: title, problem, general objective, methodology, results, conclusions, and recommendations. They also include a QR code that links to a video summary presenting interviews and key findings from each project.

The posters are on display in the FADCOM Hall, Building 14A, where the academic community can learn about the results of the analyses and explore the videos developed by the students. In this way, future professionals not only develop audiovisual criteria, but also a critical view of human knowledge, strengthening their research and communication skills.

The following groups are participating in the proposal “Research in Mythology, Philosophy, and Science”:

  • CINEPLAY: Manuel Castillo, Renata Pazos, Fernando Pinillo
  • EXPERTS: Esteban Chiba, Santiago López, Josué Salazar
