FADCOM–ESPOL welcomed Cristian Cortez, PhD, a screenwriter, playwright, and cultural manager with more than 30 years of experience in television productions in Ecuador and Latin America, who shared his insights with students on the professional practice of screenwriting and creative writing in the Ecuadorian context.
During the talk, Cortez addressed the main challenges, opportunities, and dynamics faced by those working in the field of audiovisual and creative writing. Drawing on his professional career, he analyzed the reality of the Ecuadorian market, the demands of the industry, and the skills needed to build a career in screenwriting and creative writing.
The event took place on August 17, 2026, at FADCOM–ESPOL, serving as a forum for dialogue between academic training and professional experience. The participation of a professional with a proven track record allowed students to gain firsthand insight into the dynamics of the sector and the opportunities for professional development within the creative industries.
