The Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral enthusiastically received the consultant of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), Jim Hopfensperger, whose initial observation visit is a decisive step in the process of Substantial Equivalency Accreditation of FADCOM's careers. This equivalency is the highest certification that an art and design school can achieve outside the U.S., as it certifies that graduates at the undergraduate and graduate levels possess professional competencies comparable to those of U.S. degrees.

NASAD is an organization of colleges, schools and universities in the United States that sets international standards for master's, bachelor's and doctoral degrees. It focuses on programs in design and the most diverse arts. Almost all art degrees in the United States are accredited by NASAD.

The collaboration with NASAD's consultant marks a milestone on our path to educational excellence. Our bachelor's and master's degrees will be recognized as equivalent to some of the best art and design degrees in the world. FADCOM would be the first art and design school in the country to be awarded this rating, and one of the few in Latin America, upon receiving substantial equivalency.
