The graduate in media production is a qualified expert who can lead multidisciplinary teams to create content with audiovisual and argumentative content according to the needs of society.
This program emphasizes innovation, creativity, and research with the use of technology; it allows students to develop theoretical and practical knowledge for the mastery of the different languages used in audiovisual media, such as television, film, radio, video, and multimedia platforms, from the origin and evolution of each one to the understanding of the processes for the creation, production and dissemination of audiovisual products in their different stages, combining image, sound and aesthetics according to the criteria of technical and artistic quality.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES  

Graduates of the Media production degree program should be able after graduation to:

  • To work professionally as a producer of innovative products for the media that contribute to the audiovisual production sector.

  • To lead multidisciplinary teams to produce proposals with audiovisual and argument content according to the needs of society.

  • To get new skills and knowledge through continuing education in information and communication technologies (ICTs).

  • Achieve recognition in the field of their professional practice or research because of responsible and ethical actions in the performance of their activities.

GRADUATE PROFILE  

The graduate profile of the program frames the Institutional Learning Results (RAIs) oriented towards the person and Disciplinary Learning Results (RACs) specific to Audiovisual Production, which are developed along the curricular routes of training set up in the program and contextualized in the knowledge of education (BEING, KNOWING and KNOWING HOW TO DO) where its applicability is shown.

Future professionals in Media production, based on relevance, graduate follow-up, employability studies, and latest trends in the discipline, will be able to work in the following professional fields and their respective roles:

- Television, radio, and multimedia production companies: director, cinematographer, executive producer, editor, post-producer and content creator, colorist.
- Television channels: assistant director, editor, producer, director.
- Advertising agencies: producer, 2D and 3D animator, director.
- Communication and audiovisual departments: creative writer, producer, audiovisual communicator.
- Audiovisual technical consulting: audiovisual consultant.
- Sound and digital video studio: sound director, mixer, sound engineer, technical department assistant.
- Animation studios: 2D and 3D animator, illustrator.
- Photographic studios: photographer, producer, director of photography, assistant director.
- Secondary education and high schools: teacher in subjects related to the arts and/or audiovisual production.
- Higher education: teacher and researcher in audiovisual media. 

Occupational Profile

Media producers generate audiovisual material for digital platforms, communication and multimedia, art and culture, animation, television commercials, radio, and digital media. In addition, they can also develop artistic-cultural projects and be a member of multidisciplinary teams in television channels, advertising agencies, educational content production companies, press agencies, or independently take part in national and international festivals that reward creativity in the audiovisual field. 

The program is designed to be completed over eight academic semesters, equivalent to 5,760 hours, divided into 720 hours per semester.

  • The student must complete the academic curriculum courses that grant 115 credits.

  • To carry out pre-professional practices and/or internships, which include 240 hours.

  • To make links with society, including 96 hours.

CAPSTONE COURSE  

Requirements

- To be an active registered student.
- To have passed the Capstone course.
- To have the "COMPLETED CURRICULA" status or 100% program advancement.
- To be a debt-free student.
- To have finished all the pre-professional business and community service internships.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must specify how you want your name to appear in the title. Preferably, this information should be written in PRINT.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED  

- Paid letter or document requesting the final degree.  
- Letter of document approval, anti-plagiarism review of the thesis project, signed by the primary advisor.  
- Letter of content review of the final project, signed by the tutor.  
- Graduate survey (FADCOM programs have a specific survey).  
- Legible color copy of the citizenship card; separately, you must write your first and last names with the corresponding accents.
- Two disks (CD) having the thesis project in PDF format (including the brief, images, artwork, and video files). The documents and files in the CD’s must be approved and signed.  

The Capstone Project is a culminating requirement for graduation. These projects provide students with the experience of applying acquired knowledge and skills to the needs of society, with a focus on sustainability.
The IDEAR Fair showcases all Capstone projects, offering students a valuable opportunity to showcase their work and hone soft skills such as communication and teamwork. It is also a space for students to network with potential clients and future employers.
